Narrative
When maple syrup farmer Ruth Landry finds her livelihood under attack from greedy competitors who were once her friends, she hatches a plan to get revenge and shake up the industry. Loosely based on the 2011-2012 theft of $18 million worth of maple syrup.
I didn’t know this was “season 1”
This series starts out so good and then like… tanks.
I was convinced it was the whole story told in 6 parts
Because of this it doesn’t cut it, it leaves you hanging and is too thin. The cast and production design are great, but it’s like the original Twin Peaks: once one “big crime” is solved, it’s over.
Trying to drag out subplots becomes painful, no matter how much we enjoy spending time with these bizarre characters
I realize I should have peppered this review with sweet jokes, but maples are always sad because they’re so juicy. …
